Merry Monday Challenge 93

Today I'm participating in the Merry Monday Challenge 93 which is to use ornament(s) on your project. Like many of you, I have lots of embellishments and patterned papers that I have yet to use. So, in keeping with the Use Your Stamps challenge, I have decided to try to use up all the stickers I collected at the beginning of my paper crafting journey. My project today uses stickers, patterned paper, and one more image stamp.

Here it is:

This card uses a few ornament stickers from the Eskimo Kisses collection by Basic Grey. I've had the 6x6 pad and the dimensional stickers since the collection was first released, but never used the paper because it was just too pretty to cut up. But look at how pretty the papers and stickers are when combined. I love the little deer ornament so much, I'll have to make sure this card goes to a good home this December. Time to go put on my big girl pants and use up this paper pad. I'll be back soon with more Eskimo Kisses.

This card is also being submitted for the Anything Goes Christmas Card Challenge 9.

Supplies Used
stamps: a|s that's the ticket, BG life of the party stars
cardstock: PTI white, CTMH blush, BG eskimo kisses
ink: PTI berry sorbet, Versafine onyx black
other: BG eskimo kisses stickers, MFT blueprints 1, a|s silver cording, Uniball Signo White gel pen

Until next time,
Hugs and Kisses.

Touch Twin Thursday

Hello all.

I've been colouring up a storm with my Touch Twins. I find colouring very relaxing, particularly at the end of a difficult day. That means I've got lots of completed images ready to be turned into cards.

Here's the first: Dressy Mae (digi) by Some Odd Girl

I started with a sketch I found on Splitcoast Stampers - Sketch Challenge 466. The patterned papers are from MME So Sophie and Authentique Delightful. A sentiment from PTI Little Labels was stamped on a die cut from MFT Mix & Match Banner. Dressy Mae was coloured on Crafter's Companion White and cut out using my new MFT Pierced Ovals. Since I like to keep things fairly simple, I don't use multiple layers often, so all my papers and die cuts were edged in black using the Touch Twin 120 marker.

For all you Touch Twin lovers, here are the colours I used on Dressy Mae:

Supplies Used
stamps: SOG Dressy Mae (digi), PTI Little Labels
cardstock: Crafter's Companion White, PTI Select White, MME So Sophie Graceful, Authentique Delightful
ink: Versafine Onyx Black, ShinHan Art Touch Twin Brush
other: MFT Mix & Match Banners, MFT Pierced Ovals, a|s clear twinkles, SC466

Until next time...

Well Hello There!

Can you believe I haven't posted since last year?!?

It's been a rough couple of weeks which started with the death of my beloved 'puter - my beautiful laptop which served me so well and so faithfully for so many years. I was not able to recover anything, no pictures, no files; it's been painful to say the least. Fortunately, I had begun saving some files to my Dropbox, so not everything is lost, just everything before 2013. I know! I'm tearing up too. With the help of a wonderful and knowledgeable friend, I was able to take advantage of the holiday sales and purchase a new laptop. 'Puter was a steal of a deal that came with full versions of Office, Photoshop Elements, and Premier Elements already installed. New laptop? Not so much. Guess it's time to expand my skill set with the GIMP. Hopefully it won't be too much of a learning curve...

But you didn't come here to lament the death of 'puter, a nasty bout of the flu, and the chaotic return to school after many (many) years. So let's get to the first card of the new year appropriately titled: Hello.

I wanted to play with the angled greeting that was all the rage at the end of 2013. My first attempt (and hopefully not my last) included some washi tape from an older Simon Says Stamp card kit, cardstock, a stamp, ink, twine, and some bling. I tried to keep it clean and simple by angling the tape and following with the sentiment.

Maybe next time I'll be brave enough to cut my cardstock at an angle like Miss Maile Belles. I live in hope...

Supplies Used
stamps: PTI wonderful words hello
cardstock: a|s pebble
ink: HA raspberry jam
other: a|s clear twinkles, a|s onyx baker's twine, washi tape

Until next time...
Hugs and Kisses.
